Market Abuse Regime - CPD Training Course

Seminar Overview

A half-day course aimed at those firms affected by the Market Abuse Regulation. Implemented in July 2016, the Market Abuse Regulation builds on and extends the scope of the previous market abuse regime, leading to extensive revisions of the FCA Handbook.

The following topics will be covered:

  • Why MAR was implemented in the first place
  • Why it is being extended to cover all FCA regulated firms
  • Key aspects of likely implementation, including:

 - Scope – who and what is covered

 - Legitimate behaviour – when it is safe to deal with inside information

 - Inside Information – the offence

 - When is information “inside information”?

 - Market manipulation

 - Research and disclosure

 - Impact on Listed Companies

 - Reporting to FCA – what you might have to do

Who should attend?

This course is likely to be particularly valuable for any FCA regulated firm seeking a broad introduction to the regime.

To that end it should be of value to chief executives, directors, compliance staff, human resources and trainers.

The course will also provide a valuable refresher for those already familiar with the regime.

A CPD certificate will be provided to all attendees, which may be considered appropriate by your company for the accrual of CPD hours.
