UK Multi-Cap Income Funds

UK Multi-Cap Income Funds

2nd November 2021 | 10:00-12:00

Session Overview

This live, online and interactive briefing will provide Wealth Managers, IFA's and Family Offices with an overview of the UK Multi-Cap Income Fund landscape, hearing from leading fund managers in the field.

Many UK pensioners and their pension fund managers rely on UK stockmarket-listed equities to provide retirement income.

Companies in the FTSE 100 have long been used as sources of reliable dividend income.

Yet, within these 100 companies there is significant concentration on sectors and companies responsible for most of these dividends.

Of the total dividends paid by all the FTSE 100 constituents, 50% comes from just 10 companies, and 75% from just 20. By sectors the largest dividend payers are UK high street banks, oil majors and tobacco companies.

This concentration is a risk, brought home to investors during the 2020 lock-down: the slow down in global economies hit oil prices, leading to dividend cuts amongst the oil players; to shore-up the economy the Prudential Regulation Authority asked the largest UK banks to stop paying out dividends to investors. Both sets of dividend cuts will have had dire consequences for those relying solely on income from FTSE 100 stocks.

Looking beyond the FTSE 100 (into the FTSE 250, SmallCap and AIM indices) gives a wider selection of sectors and companies from which to source dividend income.

This conference will introduce some of the managers hunting for UK income from this multi-cap universe of stocks.
